Introductions

The next step is to create a first impression for your future friends to see. It’s pretty easy. You just find out where these friends hang out and let them know you have the same likes, values and emotional concerns that they have. The hardest part? As with new social situations, this first time meeting between two new possible friends is weighed with emotion and dependent upon snap judgments.

Think about it. When you meet someone for the first time, what goes through your head? Are they cool? Do they annoy you? Do you fall head over heels for the person? What do you feel? These are the emotions that make first impressions so vital in being accepted by a new friend. Research into our friends emotions is key to a successful first impression.

It will take a little while before your future friends will even recognize you. Give them time to see that you're not a fly-by-night friend and that you're worth investing some time too.
