Project Planning Deadlines, deadlines, and more deadlines.
This is where we figure out all of the check points and client
sign-off's for the work to be done. We first list out all
of your needs for the project and start to put them to dates.
Then we figure out your drop dead deadline for this project
and plan back from that date. For an example, lets say it's
a brochure we are producing and you give us a deadline of
two months from today. We then use that date of brochure delivery
to find out all of the other check point dates for the project
so we will never be late or miss a deadline. The typical check
points of a brochure working back from the delivery date are:
bindery, printing, press check, film proof, digital proof,
prepress, client sign off, revisions, client proof, creative
construction, photo deadline, copy deadline, client approval,
print estimating, and creative design for the brochure. It's
a great road map so we all are on the same page regarding
the project. We have a similar system set up for each type
of advertising medium so you can rest easy and go back to
do what you do best.
